The woman, who met Sharpe at a Los Angeles gym in 2023, described their relationship as \u201crocky but consensual,\u201d alleging he raped her as recently as January. The $50 million case was settled on July 18, with terms undisclosed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"536\" data-end=\"870\">Sharpe, 56, addressed his departure on the <em data-start=\"579\" data-end=\"589\">Nightcap<\/em> podcast, saying he had hoped ESPN would delay the announcement until after his brother Sterling Sharpe\u2019s Pro Football Hall of Fame induction. \u201cI hate that I\u2019ve overshadowed my brother,\u201d he said, adding that Sterling, a former Green Bay Packers wide receiver, accepted his apology.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"872\" data-end=\"957\">\u201cESPN did what they felt they needed to do, and I\u2019m at peace with that,\u201d Sharpe said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"1198\">A Hall of Fame tight end with three Super Bowl wins, Sharpe built a successful media career after retiring. He co-hosted CBS\u2019s <em data-start=\"1086\" data-end=\"1101\">The NFL Today<\/em>, FS1\u2019s <em data-start=\"1109\" data-end=\"1121\">Undisputed<\/em>, and most recently <em data-start=\"1141\" data-end=\"1153\">First Take<\/em>.
