Karan, who had severe dairy allergies, went into cardiac arrest and was rushed to hospital. Despite medical efforts, he died days later from post-cardiac arrest syndrome.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"518\" data-end=\"685\">Karan had an EpiPen, but the only one available was nearly a year expired and likely less effective. Experts later said earlier treatment might have made a difference.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"687\" data-end=\"908\">Rina made the painful decision to turn off his life support two weeks later. \u201cWe didn\u2019t want to switch it off \u2013 but his body had been through enough,\u201d she said in an interview. \u201cHe smiled when the machine was turned off.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"910\" data-end=\"1154\">At the inquest, the boys involved testified they didn\u2019t know about Karan\u2019s allergy. The coroner called their actions \u201cchildish and thoughtless,\u201d not malicious \u2014 but also criticized the school for failing to educate students about allergy risks.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1156\" data-end=\"1381\">Since then, Rina has worked to raise awareness, sharing Karan\u2019s story and even hospital photos to highlight how serious allergies can be. \u201cHe begged for help: \u2018Please help me or I\u2019m going to die.\u2019 That says it all,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1383\" data-end=\"1497\">Karan\u2019s father, Amerjeet, added: \u201cHis death left a hole that will never be filled.
