Tragedy struck Appanoose County, Iowa, earlier this summer when 17-year-old Ayden Beeson, a recent Centerville High graduate and Prom King, was found dead after going missing while swimming on June 26, 2024.<\/p>\n
Authorities responded to a 911 call about a possible drowning at Rathbun Lake. Despite efforts by the Appanoose County Sheriff\u2019s Office and Water Rescue team, Ayden\u2019s body was recovered from 15\u201320 feet of water. He was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
Ayden was a beloved student-athlete\u2014known for his leadership in football and tennis\u2014and widely admired for his kindness. Superintendent Mark Taylor called his death “devastating” for the community, praising Ayden as someone who was “nice to everybody.”<\/p>\n
Centerville Community Schools expressed deep sorrow, remembering Ayden as a genuinely kind and active member of the school.<\/p>\n
