What should have been the happiest week of Paige Bell\u2019s young life ended in tragedy aboard a luxury yacht in the Bahamas.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Just days shy of her 21st birthday, Paige \u2014 a vibrant South African stewardess known for her \u201cinfectious laughter\u201d and \u201cboundless compassion\u201d \u2014 was found dead in the engine room of a docked vessel named\u00a0Far From It<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Her body, partially undressed and bearing \u201cvisible signs of injuries,\u201d was discovered with a man police have now identified as a suspect.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pronounced dead at the scene<\/h2>\n

According to the Royal Bahamas Police Force, officers were called to the marina on July 3 around 1:00 p.m. local time. Once on board the 43-meter yacht, they found Paige \u201cunresponsive with visible signs of injuries\u201d and immediately called for a doctor. The young woman \u2014 described as a \u201cgolden girl\u201d by those who knew her \u2014 was sadly pronounced her dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

The man found with her \u2014 40-year-old Brigido Munoz from Mexico \u2014 has been arrested and charged in connection with her death. Police confirmed that Paige had been \u201cmissing for a short period\u201d before being discovered, and reports allege she had \u201cgashes to her neck\u201d along with \u201cdefensive injuries to her arms.\u201d<\/p>\n

When police discovered Brigido Munoz, he had injuries on his arms that they believe were from a suicide attempt. He was taken to the hospital for treatment before facing formal charges.<\/p>\n

Munoz appeared in court on July 9 in Nassau, where he was denied bail and remanded into custody until his next hearing in November. The heartbroken family of Paige also arrived in the Caribbean to confront the man.<\/p>\n

Authorities suspect that Paige Bell may have been sexually assaulted before her death, as her body was found partially undressed.<\/p>\n

However, according to the\u00a0New York Post<\/a>, the accused, Brigido Munoz, has so far only been formally charged with murder.<\/p>\n

The killing has rocked the yachting community and beyond, especially on Harbour Island \u2014 known as the \u201cbillionaire\u2019s playground\u201d \u2014 where the yacht was docked.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Far From It<\/em>, which rents for nearly $140,000 a week, boasts nine crew members and can host up to 10 guests. Paige joined the crew after previously working aboard\u00a0Motor Yacht Sweet Emocean<\/em>\u00a0until late 2024.<\/p>\n

Her former colleagues have been left reeling. One remembered her as \u201cfamily,\u201d writing, \u201cHer radiant spirit, infectious laughter, and boundless compassion made an unforgettable impact on everyone lucky enough to know her.\u201d<\/p>\n
