Jerry Adler, the veteran actor best known for playing Herman \u201cHesh\u201d Rabkin on The Sopranos<\/em>, passed away Saturday at age 96, his family announced. Born in Brooklyn, Adler died in New York City surrounded by loved ones.<\/p>\n

Adler appeared in 28 episodes of the acclaimed HBO series, portraying the trusted consigliere to Tony Soprano. Though he didn\u2019t begin acting until age 65, his performances left a lasting impression.<\/p>\n
