Beckham was riding a toy car when he disturbed a nest and was swarmed. Initially treated and sent home, his condition worsened within 24 hours\u2014his skin turned yellow, and he was rushed back to the hospital.<\/p>\n
Doctors found his kidney, liver, and heart were failing due to the venom. Born with only one kidney, Beckham was transferred to the ICU in Savannah, placed on a ventilator, dialysis, and IV meds.<\/p>\n
His age, size, and number of stings overwhelmed his body. With no antivenom, doctors can only support him as he fights the toxins.<\/p>\n
His father has taken time off work to stay by his side. As of Wednesday, doctors reported early signs of improvement in liver and kidney function.<\/p>\n
