Known for playing Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman<\/em> (1993), Cain originally aspired to be a football player, but a knee injury ended that dream, pushing him into acting.<\/p>\n Born Dean George Tanaka in 1966, his biological father left the family early. His mother later married director Christopher Cain, who adopted Dean and his brother. Dean never met his birth father and took his adoptive father’s name.<\/p>\n In 2000, Cain became a father when ex-girlfriend Samantha Torres gave birth to their son, Christopher\u2014named after his adoptive father.
