On March 6, 1981, Marianne Bachmeier entered a courtroom in L\u00fcbeck, Germany with\u00a0purpose in every<\/strong>\u00a0step.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Then, suddenly, she grabbed a loaded pistol from her purse and opened fire on 35-year-old sex offender Klaus Grabowski.<\/p>\n

The man had been accused of the\u00a0kidnapping<\/a>, abuse and murder of Marianne\u2019s 7-year-old daughter, Anna Bachmeier.<\/p>\n

Seconds later, Grabowski took his last breath and died on the courtroom floor \u2013 after being hit by seven of Marianne\u2019s bullets. The vengeful mother was immediately arrested but showed no trace of remorse. 40 years later, \u201dRevenge mom\u201d continues to live on in people\u2019s minds \u2013 and her sentence yet divides a whole nation \u2026<\/p>\n

The\u00a0loss of a child\u00a0is the ultimate tragedy, often referred to as the worst experience a parent can endure.<\/p>\n

On May 5, 1980, Marianne Bachmeier\u2019s life was forever changed. In the \u201980\u2019s, Marianne was a struggling single mom who ran a pub in L\u00fcbeck, northern Germany.<\/p>\n

Marianne\u2019s own youth was marked by misery and several traumas. Her father had been a member of the Waffen-SS, one of the most infamous organizations in Nazi Germany.<\/p>\n

Growing up, she had been raped several times by different men. At just 16 years old, Marianne fell pregnant. As a teenager, she couldn\u2019t raise the baby alone and decided to give the infant up for adoption. When she was 18, Marianne became pregnant a second time \u2013 and once again left her baby to an adoption agency.<\/p>\n

In 1973, Marianne gave birth to a third child, her daughter, Anna. Marianne was still a single mom, but raised Anna on her own.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0sources<\/a>, Anna was a \u201chappy, open-minded child\u201d, but unfortunately she and her family would soon suffer a terrible event.<\/p>\n
