A woman has shared a photo capturing her granddaughter Scarlett Jensen\u2019s final moments, taken just minutes before the 3-year-old was tragically killed in a hit-and-run.<\/p>\n
On October 7, 2022, Scarlett and her 2-year-old brother, Henry, were in the care of their grandmother while their parents attended a wedding. While walking on their private driveway in Oldtown, Idaho, a speeding Chevy Tahoe struck all three. Scarlett died instantly, while Henry and their grandmother were critically injured.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe driver didn\u2019t stop. My mom was waving and trying to save them,\u201d said Scarlett\u2019s mother, Samantha Jensen. The suspect fled on foot but was later caught and sentenced to 10 years in prison.<\/p>\n
Henry suffered multiple severe injuries and spent a week in the PICU, while the grandmother recovered after hospitalization. Amid their grief, the family found a photo on the grandmother\u2019s recovered phone\u2014taken just five minutes before Scarlett\u2019s death.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe had just gotten out of her stroller to pick flowers,\u201d Samantha said. \u201cIt\u2019s the last photo of her alive.\u201d<\/p>\n
Two years later, the family continues to heal. \u201cSome days I feel like I\u2019m drowning,\u201d Samantha admitted, \u201cbut my faith has carried me.\u201d What was once too painful to look at has become a treasured memory.<\/p>\n
