A nightmare has taken center stage at 16,000 feet with nearly 1000 adventurers getting trapped on Mount Everest after a huge blizzard swept in this weekend.<\/p>\n

Rescue crews struggled to reach the stranded campsite on Sunday, sources have now confirmed.<\/p>\n

Weekend storms trapped hikers on the mountain\u2019s eastern face in Tibet, starting Friday with heavy snows collapsing tents and leaving many suffering from hypothermia, as per recent reports.<\/p>\n

Tibet\u2019s Blue Sky Rescue teams managed to bring back as many as 350 of those trapped tourists to safety, but hundreds of others remain trapped by the snow as rescue efforts continued.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Tingri County Tourism Company has suspended ticket sales to the dangerous yet very popular 29,000-foot Himalayan peak, which is the world\u2019s tallest.<\/p>\n

Although it\u2019s evolved into a popular climbing challenge for tourists across the board, more than 300 people have passed away on that mountain, particularly in the area above 26,000 feet, which is known as the dead zone.<\/p>\n

The mountain is known for being unpredictable and having different weather patterns and violent storms that pose constant dangers for climbers across the board.<\/p>\n

Last year, a pair of climbers went missing and were said to be dead after a ridge collapsed on the highest peak, called Everest.<\/p>\n
