A great example is Officer James Hurst of Savannah, Georgia. In May 2016, a 16-month-old boy was found wandering alone. Police brought him to the hospital for a checkup, where he became scared and upset.<\/p>\n
Officer Hurst stayed with the child, eventually picking him up and comforting him until he fell asleep. \u201cIt was just human instinct,\u201d Hurst said. \u201cHe needed someone.\u201d<\/p>\n
A photo of the touching moment went viral on Facebook, with thousands praising his compassion. But Hurst humbly insisted he was just doing his job: \u201cIt\u2019s what we do every day.\u201d<\/p>\n
