Arturo Gatti Jr., Son of Boxing Legend, Dies at 17<\/strong><\/p>\n

Arturo Gatti Jr., the 17-year-old son of late boxing champion Arturo “Thunder” Gatti, has been found dead in his Mexico City apartment, where he lived with his mother, Amanda Rodrigues. Authorities have not released the cause of death.<\/p>\n

The World Boxing Association confirmed his passing, stating:
“His journey was just beginning. Now he\u2019s reunited with his legendary father among the stars.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Gatti Jr. had been training in hopes of making his professional debut. His coach, Moe Latif, confirmed the news on Instagram, asking for privacy.<\/p>\n

Boxer Jean Pascal posted:
“Sixteen years after losing his father, the world loses another Gatti. Two fighters, one legacy, both gone too soon.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Close family friend Chuck Zito also shared his condolences:
“R.I.P. to 17-year-old Arturo Gatti Jr\u2026 My condolences to his family.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Gatti Sr., a two-weight world champion, died under mysterious circumstances in 2009. His wife, initially suspected, was later cleared after his death was ruled a suicide.<\/p>\n

Gatti Jr., just 10 months old at the time, grew up embracing his father’s legacy. In a Father\u2019s Day message earlier this year, he wrote:
“Every time I step in the ring, I feel you with me. You built the legacy \u2014 I\u2019m here to carry it forward.”<\/em><\/p>\n
