Bill Clinton rose to global fame after becoming U.S. President in 1993. Despite a successful political career, his legacy was overshadowed by the scandalous affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Still, he has remained married to Hillary Clinton for nearly five decades.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bill was born in 1946 in Hope, Arkansas. His father died before he was born, and his stepfather, Roger Clinton, was abusive. Despite this, Bill never hated him and eventually took his last name. He excelled at school, especially in music, and aspired to be president after meeting John F. Kennedy during a Boys Nation event.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bill studied at Georgetown, Oxford, and Yale, where he met Hillary Rodham. The two fell in love, though Hillary turned down his marriage proposals twice due to fears of losing her identity in his political world. She eventually said yes, and they married in 1975.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Their daughter, Chelsea, was born in 1980. Bill became Governor of Arkansas in 1978 and President in 1993. Hillary built a successful legal and political career of her own, eventually becoming a Senator and Secretary of State.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1998, Bill\u2019s affair with Lewinsky became public, leading to national scandal and impeachment proceedings. Hillary chose to stay with him, later calling it one of the hardest decisions of her life.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After the White House, Hillary ran for president in 2016. The Clintons now focus on philanthropy and family, enjoying their roles as grandparents.
