He passed on October 16 after being placed on a ventilator.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"274\" data-end=\"454\">His family shared, \u201cWe are devastated. In his final moments, he was surrounded by love. We will forever cherish his laughter, kindness, and the incredible legacy he leaves behind.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"456\" data-end=\"581\">Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons paid tribute, calling Frehley \u201can irreplaceable rock soldier\u201d and a vital part of KISS history.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"583\" data-end=\"885\">Known as \u201cSpace Ace,\u201d Frehley helped define KISS\u2019s sound and image with his explosive guitar work and larger-than-life stage presence. He joined the band in 1972, rising to fame with hits like <em data-start=\"776\" data-end=\"800\">Rock and Roll All Nite<\/em> and <em data-start=\"805\" data-end=\"824\">Detroit Rock City<\/em>. His 1978 solo hit <em data-start=\"844\" data-end=\"861\">New York Groove<\/em> remains a fan favorite.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"887\" data-end=\"1120\">After leaving KISS in the &#8217;80s, Frehley found solo success with <em data-start=\"951\" data-end=\"968\">Frehley\u2019s Comet<\/em>, later reuniting with KISS in 1996.
