Now, she\u2019s addressing the criticism \u2014 and her grief.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"372\" data-end=\"591\">The 30-year-old broke down in tears during a massive memorial service on September 21 at State Farm Stadium, where 100,000 mourners, including President Trump and Vice President JD Vance, honored Kirk\u2019s life and career.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"593\" data-end=\"856\">Since then, Erika has appeared on her late husband\u2019s podcast to discuss becoming the new CEO of Turning Point USA. But her upbeat demeanor drew backlash, even from Candace Owens, who accused her of seeming \u201ctoo happy\u201d and not demanding answers about the shooting.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"858\" data-end=\"1081\">Erika responded that \u201cthere\u2019s no linear blueprint for grief.\u201d<br data-start=\"919\" data-end=\"922\" \/>\u201cOne day you\u2019re collapsed on the floor crying,\u201d she wrote. \u201cThe next you\u2019re playing with your children, feeling a bittersweet joy as a smile breaks through.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1083\" data-end=\"1214\">She added, \u201cLove doesn\u2019t ask to be healed \u2014 it asks to be remembered.
