US Vice President JD Vance is silently entertaining the idea of a future presidential run, specifically if he teams up with Marco Rubio.
This is someone that he refers to as his good friend, in fact his best friend in the entire Trump administration. Vance, does attempt to downplay any immediate ambition and is working silently to attain his goal.
He says his focus is currently on serving the nation as vice president and helping the current administration succeed.
‘Let’s at least get through the next couple of years and do some great work for the American people before we walk about politics, ‘ he added.
Rubio is cast as a possible running mate or partner in such a ticket. The two collaborate on a frequent basis and have a strong relationship, as per local media outlets.
The news comes amid comments from Trump in public. Although the 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution plainly prohibits a president being elected more than twice, Trump has nonetheless floated ideas about a third term or finding workarounds to attain that goal. He’s even spoken about the thought of a Vance/Rubio ticket. So the battle is on for leadership succession and alternatives is very much alive.
