A woman in her 40s was found unresponsive this week at Disney’s Pop Century Resort in Florida and later passed away after being taken to a nearby hospital.
As per reports from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, there were no signs of foul play.
This marks the fourth guest death at the wider Walt Disney World Resort area in approximately a month’s time. The resort is world famous as being one of Disney’s value-tier accommodations, linked to the parks through the Sky Liner gondola system. In previous incidents, a 28-year-old guest died by taking their own life at the nearby Contemporary Resort.

Another guest in his 60s passed away after a medical episode at the Fort Wilderness, and earlier in the month, a 31-year-old Disney super fan died at the resort in what authorities claimed was suicide.
While the exact cause of death for the woman found at Pop Century was yet to be revealed publicly, the cluster of deaths has led to concern amongst visitors and media commentators, given the short time span and high-profile destination.

Disney has yet to share a detailed public statement on this front, describing the matter or linking it to past deaths. There is an ongoing investigation taking place with the sheriff’s office, noting that no foul play is suspected at this moment in time.
