An American private school director and his teen son were reportedly stung to death by giant hornets while on vacation.
Daniel Owen and his son passed away after being swarmed by what seemed to be a huge group of Asian giant hornets during their ziplining trip at the eco-adventure resort of Laos.
The hornets attacked the tourists and their guide while they struggled to descend from a giant tree, a source shared with local media outlets.
The father and son duo were reportedly conscious when they arrived at the hospital and showed no symptoms of anaphylactic shock, but passed away a few hours later.
Their whole bodies were covered with red spots. Sources shared how it was very painful as they were enduring a lot of pain from the massive number of stings.
The exact number was more than 100 all across the body, a doctor who treated them explained. “I thought already that this was a dangerous situation because I had never seen something as bad as this,” the doctor mentioned.
