A Federal judge has just ordered the Trump administration to pay full SNAP benefits for November by tomorrow.
This news comes after a plan detailed in a court filing from the government just days ago that saw only 50% of all funds being distributed to Americans.
“People have gone without for too long!”- Judge John J McConnell Jr mentioned during a hearing that took place today at the US District Court in Rhode Island.

He issued the order after hearing plaintiffs’ arguments that the administration’s plan for partial benefits be rejected amid the ongoing federal government shutdown that began at the start of last month.
The order required that the Trump administration tap the funding that it argued was not available for SNAP on Monday.
‘This evidence shows that people will go hungry, food pantries will be overburdened, and needless suffering will arise if SNAP is not fully funded,’- the judge went on to elaborate.

“That’s what irreplaceable harm here means. Last weekend, SNAP benefits lapsed for the first time in our country’s history,” the post read.
‘This is a huge problem that could have been and should have been avoided in the first place, ‘ he argued.
