Tragic reports are speaking about multiple explosions taking place on Friday at a mosque that was located inside a high school in the Indonesian capital city of Jakarta.
The school was reportedly located inside a navy compound in the Kelapa Gading district of North Jakarta, Indonesia. Authorities shared more about how at least 55 people were injured in the blasts that were heard from a distance.

Sounds of two loud explosions just as the midday sermon began, followed by grey smoke filling the mosque. Many of the injured suffered serious cuts and burns, mostly from shattered glass and flying objects rather than fatal structural damage.
The building itself reportedly showed no major signs of structural damage.

Investigators shared more about how a 17 year old student was identified as the suspect. He himself is said to be undergoing surgery after suffering serious injuries.
At the site, investigators managed to find toy weapons and handwritten materials bearing extremist references. However, authorities have warned against jumping to conclusions right now and have yet to classify the incident definitively as an act of terrorism. The country has faced attacks on churches and Western sites before, but attacks on mosques are awfully rare.
