Drama at the White House
Tension erupted at the White House on Thursday, November 6, when a man collapsed during President Donald Trump’s announcement of lower costs for weight-loss drugs.
The incident quickly went viral, sparking speculation after Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appeared to “flee the scene.” Witnesses later clarified that Kennedy left to fetch a chair and wet towel to assist the man.
The collapse occurred as Dr. Mehmet Oz, head of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, spoke about Trump’s cost-reduction plan. “The White House Medical Unit quickly jumped into action, and the gentleman is okay,” Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said afterward.
Dr. Oz was seen aiding the man, while social media criticized Trump for remaining at his desk. Deputy Press Secretary Kush Desai defended Kennedy on X, saying, “The Secretary rushed to get medical assistance while others tended to the man, you ghoul.”
According to PEOPLE, the unidentified man was “in pretty bad shape” and was eventually taken out on a gurney.
