A tragic cargo plane incident arose this week when a UPS jet took off from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport and crashed in a fiery explosion.
The plane involved was identified as a freighter that was bound for Honolulu and suffered a major engine failure or detachment during the takeoff roll. This left one of the wings igniting in flames.

The three crew members on board were identified by UPS as Captain Richard Wartenberg, First Officer Lee Truitt, and International Relief Officer Captain Dana Diamond. All of them perished in this crash.
Furthermore, the crash resulted in serious fatalities on the ground. This entailed a local mother of two named Angela Anderson, who was present at a nearby auto scrap yard when the plane went down. She is believed to be among the missing and presumed dead. Her lover shared how she went into the facility alone just minutes before the impact arose.

Investigators from the NTSB have recovered the plane’s black boxes and begun examining the plane’s maintenance history. This included a prior repair for a structured crack in the wing fuel tank region. At the moment, investigations are taking place to get more details regarding the crash as the community is in mourning.
