Donald Trump didn’t get the warmest of welcomes on Sunday after he attended an NFL game between the Washington Commanders and the Detroit Lions at Northwest Stadium in Maryland.
Later in the first half, when Trump appeared on the big screen in a luxury suite, the crowd was seen loudly booing him.

At the halftime mark, Trump administered the Oath of Enlistment to military service as part of a Salute to Service ceremony designed to honor veterans and active duty personnel.
Yet, even during this formal segment, the jeering from the crowd continued, nearly overwhelming his remarks. Trump’s arrival was also delayed, though the stadium is only 30 minutes away from the White House. He landed at Joint Base Andrews and was roughly 80 minutes late to get to the game.

This part of the region is said to rely strongly on the Democratic side, and many local federal employees have been affected by the prolonged government shutdown.
This might have contributed to the hostile reception that he received, leaving him stunned. Furthermore, Trump did express interest in having the team’s upcoming stadium, worth $4 billion, named after him. This again got massive criticism.
