Man Gives Emergency Assistance to a Neighbor, Saves Her Life, and Ends Up in Court — But Justice Was Served

When my neighbor Karen had a medical emergency, I rushed to help, performing CPR to save her life. But instead of gratitude, she sued me for “malicious wounding” over her broken ribs. It was absurd, but luckily my wife, Sarah, kept me calm and we hired a lawyer. After gathering evidence, including paramedics’ affidavits and the 911 call, Karen’s case was dismissed in court.

The media picked up the story, and my boss, impressed by my actions, promoted me to operations manager. We moved to a bigger home, and Karen stopped speaking to us. Despite everything, I’d probably help her again, but some things are better left unsaid.
