A 16-year-old UK teen, Harley Andrews, died just a day after learning he had stage four leukemia. Weeks earlier, doctors had told him his symptoms were likely due to a viral infection or “growing pains.”
Harley, a keen soccer and rugby player from Leigh, Greater Manchester, returned to the hospital after noticing blood in his urine. There, doctors discovered aggressive leukemia that had already caused internal bleeding in his brain and organs. He was admitted on November 8 and passed away in the early hours of November 9.
A family friend said Harley’s mother barely had time to process the diagnosis before he died. A GoFundMe has been set up to support the family. Harley, the second of six children, was remembered for his warm heart, bright smile, and love for football.
