Miss Universe 2025 has come to a close after Fatima Bosch from Mexico was crowned the winner of the scandal-hit competition.
She emerged as a fan favorite after she was berated by a Thai pageant director during a pre-pageant meeting, giving rise to several contestants walking out.
The winner is a 25-year-old humanitarian and volunteer who was crowned by last year’s winner, Victoria Theilvig from Denmark.
This competition is widely known for being the Super Bowl of the beauty world and draws millions of viewers every year. Delegates from every nation are selected through local pageants that license local rights from the Miss Universe Organization.

Thailand’s Praveenar Singh came second, while Venezuela’s Stephany Abasali, the Philippines’ Ahtisa Manalo, and the Ivory Coast’s Olivia Yace also made the top five.
Thailand, which is this year’s host nation, has a vibrant and lucrative pageant industry with one of the biggest fanbases in Asia, other than the Philippines.

Yesterday, one of the contestants from Jamaica ended up falling off the stage and therefore had to be stretchered off the platform and then rushed to the hospital for urgent care.
The event featured representatives from 120 nations, and then out of those, 30 semifinalists were selected. This is also the first time that a participant from Palestine has taken part in the event.
