A tragic incident in India made headlines after a camel killed its owner, reportedly after being left tied up for hours in extreme heat without water or shade. The event took place in the Barmer district, where temperatures had soared above 109°F.
The camel’s owner, Urjaram, had forgotten the animal outside while entertaining guests. Witnesses said the camel was distressed and restless. When the owner finally approached to untie it, the camel snapped—lunging at him, grabbing his neck, and violently killing him. Villagers said it took 25 people nearly six hours to restrain the enraged animal.
Locals claimed there had been past tension between the man and the camel. Experts noted that while camels are usually gentle, mistreatment or extreme stress can make them dangerously aggressive. Powerful jaws, strong kicks, and massive weight make them capable of deadly attacks.
Though rare, severe camel attacks have happened before, often linked to poor handling or mistreatment.
