Sara’s honeymoon takes a sudden turn when her mother-in-law, Carolyn, calls claiming something terrible has happened to her son, James. In a panic, Sara rushes home, only to find James perfectly fine, happily watching TV. Carolyn admits she lied to get Sara to return early, as she didn’t want to cancel a weekend getaway with someone she was seeing. Furious at the betrayal, Sara confronts Carolyn, but Carolyn brushes it off, saying everything’s fine because James was unharmed. Feeling betrayed and manipulated, Sara decides to leave and spend the night with a friend to clear her head. Later, Carolyn calls to apologize, but the damage is done.
