A maniac managed to sneak up behind a woman and her son yesterday as they walked their pet dog in Union Square and stabbed the plush pooch in the backside.
The incident reportedly left the dog in need of emergency surgery, as confirmed by the owners recently.
The 1-year-old Bernedoodle named Hazel was said to be with the owners, Orly Nhaissi and her young son, Elijah Sherinsky, as they strolled home from Breads Bakery at about 7 pm on Friday, when a man yelled out something.
The apparently deranged man then bent over and jabbed the dog with a knife near the intersection of 14th Street and Union Square West.
‘He stabbed her, right there in the butt. She did not do anything to deserve this. We were just walking, and he started to yell something out. I think he mentioned that she’s an idiot. He laughed and grinned after carrying out the attack, and had a knife, the witnesses mentioned.
