King Charles is reportedly set to visit the United States in April 2026 after accepting an invitation from Donald Trump, reversing roles after Trump’s recent state visit to the UK. The trip is expected to be a lavish state visit tied to preparations for the US’s 250th Independence anniversary celebrations.
The news comes amid concerns about the King’s health. Charles, diagnosed with an unspecified cancer in early 2024, is still undergoing treatment, raising questions about whether he is fit for such an extensive journey. Despite this, he continues to carry out royal duties.
During a visit to a Birmingham hospital in September, the 76-year-old monarch spoke openly with cancer patients about aging and recovery, admitting physical challenges but saying he was “not too bad.” He acknowledged frustrations around cancer detection while noting advances in treatment.
Royal insiders have claimed Charles’s cancer may be incurable. Journalist Camilla Tominey reported that he may live with cancer rather than die from it, and that plans for his future milestones remain tentative due to his health.
The visit also comes amid family turmoil, as Prince Andrew has been stripped of his royal titles following ongoing controversies.
