A short while after the clock struck midnight on New Year’s Day, 16-year-old Arthur Brodard texted his mother, Happy New Year, Mom. I love you!’
But little did she realize that this was the last time that she would be hearing from him. Since then, she’s learned that her son passed away in the Swiss fire tragedy, which also took the lives of 39 others celebrating the new year.

The teen was reportedly unaccounted for after attending the celebrations at Le Constellation, which was a ski resort bar located in Switzerland. After learning about the horrific news that he was no more, she shared that they can now begin mourning, as they were not provided with any information on his whereabouts, and whether he had managed to make it out alive or not.
Sources shared how the mother had held strong hope that he was among those who luckily suffered non-fatal injuries in the blaze, but that was not the case. On January 3, she found out about his fate and how he was among those killed, putting an end to the frantic search.

“Our Arthur has now left to party in paradise,”- she shared in a very heartbreaking and emotional video shared through social media.
