After a year marked by illness and recovery, 2025 became a turning point for the Princess of Wales. Kate Middleton, 43, announced in January that she was in remission following her 2024 cancer diagnosis and gradually returned to public duties throughout the year.
By autumn, she appeared stronger and more confident, debuting a refreshed look and settling with Prince William and their three children into their new family home, Forest Lodge. An insider said few people knew how dark the past year truly was, as Kate chose to keep much of her struggle private.
Prince William later described it as “the hardest year of my life,” but the couple is now looking ahead. With King Charles also battling cancer, Kate is said to be focused on staying healthy and preparing for greater royal responsibilities.
“Kate is fully focused on recovery and readying herself for the future,” the source said. “She’s ready to be queen.”
