As a baby, Deyvion was rescued from a devastating apartment fire that left him with severe facial burns. Despite the trauma, he survived and began a long recovery in a specialized burn unit—without any family by his side.
At age five, he met Beth Plunkett, a single mother of two, who quickly fell in love with him. “I thought he was a beautiful little boy,” she said. After nearly seven years in foster care, Beth officially adopted Deyvion, finally giving him the family he deserved.
The firefighters who saved him never forgot him. On adoption day, they surprised Deyvion with a special jacket and hat and even drove him and Beth to court in a fire truck to celebrate the big moment.
Today, Deyvion is surrounded by love and support—a brave little boy with a bright future ahead.
