Two Florida teens are accused of luring 14-year-old Danika Troy into the woods, where she was fatally shot and her body set on fire following an online dispute.
Danika was last seen Nov. 30 and reported missing the next morning. Authorities later said she had been killed that night. Her body was found Dec. 2 in a wooded area in Pace, Florida.
Police charged Kimahri Blevins, 14, and Gabriel Williams, 16, with first-degree premeditated murder. Investigators believe she was shot multiple times before the suspects burned her body. A witness told authorities the teens had planned the killing after a falling out over Thanksgiving break.
Both suspects, who knew Danika from school, are being held in juvenile detention. Officials say the motive remains unclear and the investigation is ongoing. A GoFundMe has been created to help cover funeral expenses for Danika’s family.
