Kevin McKidd and Kim Raver are leaving Grey’s Anatomy after nearly two decades, with their final episode airing in the Season 22 finale on May 7.
McKidd, who played Dr. Owen Hunt since 2008, said the show was a huge part of his life and thanked creator Shonda Rhimes. Raver, who portrayed Dr. Teddy Altman since 2009 (with a break before returning in 2017), said the role will always remain special to her.
Their characters’ long, complicated relationship — including marriage and divorce — has been central to the series, and recent episodes hint they may reconnect before their exit.
Their departure marks the end of an era for fans, though the show’s creator suggests their storyline won’t end in tragedy.
