Teachers are often undervalued, yet they play a huge role in shaping young lives.
One example is Jonathan Oliver, a PE teacher in Georgia, who went viral for a simple act of kindness. During a basketball game, a kindergartener named Kristen asked him to tie her hair. Without hesitation, he knelt down and carefully put it in a ponytail—unaware he was being filmed.
The video spread quickly online, touching many people. But to Oliver, it wasn’t anything special.
“We all do it,” he said. “We just want kids to feel loved and at home.”
Kristen’s mom was grateful, saying she always knows her daughter is in good hands.
It was a small moment—but a powerful reminder that great teachers go far beyond teaching.
