Teachers are often undervalued despite the vital role they play in our communities. Jonathan Oliver, a phys-ed teacher at WG Nunn Elementary in Valdosta, Georgia, recently reminded everyone why teachers are heroes.
During a basketball game, kindergartener Kristen Paulk asked Oliver to help tie her hair. Kneeling to her level, he carefully braided her hair—unaware he was being recorded. The video, posted on YouTube as “When your job goes beyond teaching!” went viral and later featured on Good Morning America.
Oliver, a dad-of-three, humbly said, “It was just a ponytail. We try to make them feel at home and loved.” Kristen’s mom praised his care, highlighting how teachers often go above and beyond for their students.
