Now 82, he recently became a grandfather after his son, Miles “Sonar” Burghoff, welcomed a baby girl. Inspired by his dad, Miles became a professional angler.

Burghoff left MASH* at the height of its success due to the strain it put on his family life. He turned down major roles and even a $4 million offer, choosing instead to spend more time at home.

Though he later faced financial struggles, he rebuilt his life through painting wildlife art, with pieces selling for thousands.
