Kamala Harris warned that Donald Trump should not be allowed to appoint up to two additional justices to the Supreme Court of the United States, urging Democrats to stay “clear-eyed about what is at stake.”
She shared a The New York Times report highlighting a multimillion-dollar effort by Demand Justice to oppose potential Trump nominees. The group’s president, Josh Orton, said the campaign could cost $3 million initially and up to $15 million more if vacancies arise—possibly involving Justices Clarence Thomas or Samuel Alito.
Senate control could determine whether any nominees are confirmed, making upcoming elections critical.
Meanwhile, Justice Samuel Alito was briefly hospitalized after feeling ill at an event but was treated for dehydration and returned home the same night.
