Erika Kirk, widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, was set to appear alongside Vice President JD Vance at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Georgia on April 15, but canceled after receiving what officials described as “very serious threats.”
Her husband, Charlie Kirk, was killed at an event in Utah in September last year. Since his death, Erika Kirk has taken over as CEO of Turning Point USA and has continued public appearances, including previous events with JD Vance.
According to Turning Point USA, the decision to cancel was made due to safety concerns. JD Vance said he had been worried the event might be called off and confirmed that the Secret Service was involved due to the situation.
Erika later posted that she was disappointed to miss the event but emphasized that she follows her security team’s advice closely, thanking supporters for their understanding.
