Posted on April 24, 2026 By admin

Anne Burrell died in June 2025 at age 55, with authorities later ruling her death a suicide. According to police, a note and journal entries were found in her Brooklyn home, and she was discovered unresponsive with pills nearby. Her husband, Stuart Claxton, called 911 after failing to wake her.

The medical examiner determined the cause as acute intoxication from a mix of substances, including antihistamines, alcohol, and amphetamine. Officials said she had not previously shown signs of suicidal intent.

Burrell was a well-known Food Network star, famous for hosting Worst Cooks in America. A trained chef and cookbook author, she built a successful career teaching and entertaining audiences with her bold personality and passion for cooking.
