My 8-year-old daughter Mia kept saying her bed felt “too tight.” I first thought she was imagining it, then replaced her mattress—but the feeling came back.
To be safe, I installed a camera in her room. Most nights looked normal until 2:00 a.m., when I got a motion alert.
On the feed, Mia was asleep—but the mattress was subtly moving, lifting and dipping as if something was underneath it.
I rushed in. Everything looked normal. But when I checked under the mattress, I found a hidden black tube and cable leading to a small recording device taped under her bed.
I took Mia to another room and called the police.
She then mentioned a “cable man” who had been in her room alone the week before, supposedly for internet work.
Officers said they would investigate the company.
The “tight bed” feeling wasn’t imagination—it was the hidden device shifting under the mattress. Without Mia’s repeated complaints, it might never have been found.
