Dylan Carter, a Season 24 contestant on The Voice, has died at 24 after a single-vehicle crash in South Carolina. Authorities are still investigating.
Carter gained national attention in 2023 with an emotional audition of “I Look to You”, honoring his late mother, which earned all four judges’ turns. His coach, Reba McEntire, paid tribute, calling him kind, talented, and a “ray of sunshine.”
Local officials in Moncks Corner also honored him as a gifted singer and beloved community figure. A scheduled performance was canceled as fans shared tributes online.
Carter had spoken openly about his grief on the show, saying his performance made his mother proud.
