Jessi Pierce, a well-known Minnesota hockey reporter, has died at age 37 along with her three children in a devastating house fire, the NHL confirmed.
The blaze broke out early Saturday in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, destroying the home before firefighters arrived. One adult, three children, and a family dog were found dead. Neighbors described waking up to heavy smoke and flames spreading rapidly.
The NHL expressed deep condolences, saying Pierce “loved our game” and was a valued member of NHL.com for 10 years.
Pierce covered the Minnesota Wild, worked with The Athletic, and co-hosted the Bardown Beauties podcast. She was previously also involved with USA Hockey and other hockey publications.
Her children were identified as Hudson, Cayden, and Avery. She is survived by her husband, Mike.
Just a day before the tragedy, Pierce had shared a family outing on social media.
