Mel Schilling, the relationship expert on Married at First Sight Australia, has died at 54 after a long battle with cancer, her husband Gareth Brisbane confirmed.
He shared that she passed away peacefully surrounded by family, calling her a devoted mother to their 10-year-old daughter Maddie and praising her courage throughout her illness.
Schilling was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2023 and later faced complications after the cancer spread. Despite years of treatment and chemotherapy, she continued working and filming during her illness.
Known as a key relationship expert on the show since 2016, she became a well-known TV figure in both Australia and the UK version of the franchise.
