A tragic incident in Mexico has left a 3-year-old boy, Vicente, dead after he was allegedly left inside a hot car for hours.
Authorities in Mexicali, Baja California, said the child was found unresponsive in a parked vehicle during extreme heat, with investigators believing he had been trapped for over 12 hours.
Reports state his mother returned home late after a party and allegedly left him strapped in his car seat, later realizing he was still in the car the next day.
Emergency services tried to revive him, but he was pronounced dead. Officials confirmed heatstroke as the cause, with no signs of violence. Burns from prolonged heat exposure were also found on his body.
Police are investigating the case, while the boy’s father alleged the mother may have been intoxicated at the time.
