An 18-year-old UK student, Lily King from Buckinghamshire, tragically died after a severe allergic reaction while on holiday in Morocco.
The trip was meant to celebrate finishing her first year of economics at university, but turned fatal when she accidentally ate a small piece of carrot at a restaurant in Rabat.
Lily had multiple severe allergies, including nuts, fish, dairy, sesame, and seafood, and had struggled with worsening reactions over time.
Despite using her EpiPen and antihistamines, her condition rapidly deteriorated, leading to a cardio-respiratory arrest. She died in hospital four days later.
Her mother, Aicha, said Lily’s final words were: “I love you. I’m sorry. Goodbye,” before collapsing in her arms.
Rest in peace, Lily King.
