During the memorial at State Farm Stadium, Trump hugged Erika on stage as the crowd applauded. Soon after, social media users uncovered an unexpected connection between them dating back years.
Before marrying Charlie Kirk, Erika competed in the 2012 Miss USA pageant, which was owned by Trump at the time. She had previously won Miss Arizona in 2011 and was known for her basketball dribbling talent performance. Reports from former Miss USA judges have also claimed Trump had influence over selecting winners during his years running the competition, though there is no evidence Erika was among them.
