President Trump’s disapproval rating has risen to 62% — the highest of his second term — as many Americans express frustration over the economy, inflation, rising living costs, and the conflict in Iran, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll.
The survey, conducted April 24–28 among 2,560 adults nationwide, found Trump’s approval rating at 37%, while support among independent voters dropped sharply to just 25%.
Only 33% approve of Trump’s handling of Iran, while approval on the economy fell to 34% and inflation to 27%. Concerns over healthcare cuts, defense spending, and executive orders have also increased public criticism ahead of the November midterm elections.
The poll also found growing concerns about Trump’s mental sharpness and health, with nearly 60% saying he is not mentally fit enough for the presidency.
