A simple idea from one mom touched hearts online after a teacher discovered encouraging messages written on her son’s pencils.
Teacher Amanda Cox shared on Facebook that she asked students to return extra pencils from their desks. One student hesitated, asking if he could keep the pencils his mom had given him, though he eventually shared a few with classmates.
Later, while sharpening them, Cox noticed the mother had written positive affirmations on each pencil, including messages like “you are amazing,” “never give up,” and “I love you.”
The teacher was deeply moved, realizing the child carried those reminders of love and confidence with him throughout the school day. Even more touching, the student happily shared the pencils so classmates could experience the same encouragement.
Cox praised the mother’s thoughtful gesture, saying small reminders like these can help children feel valued, loved, and confident — something every child deserves to hear.
